A message from The King in support of Stand Up To Cancer
Published
The King has recorded a personal message that will be broadcast today (Friday 12th December) as part of Stand Up To Cancer 2025, a joint campaign from Cancer Research UK and Channel 4.
Launched on 5th December, this week-long campaign aims to drive awareness of the importance of early diagnosis, raises funding for cancer research and supports all those affected by the illness.
His Majesty’s message forms part of Channel 4’s flagship night of programmes and was aired at 8pm, shortly before a unique live broadcast from a cancer clinic at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, presented by Davina McCall.
In his message, The King stressed the importance of cancer screening programmes in enabling early diagnosis and reflected on his own recovery journey. Read His Majesty's message in full here.
This year, Stand Up To Cancer has launched a simple online screening checker (screeningchecker.co.uk) which helps users determine which breast, bowel and cervical screening programmes they may be eligible for, provides trusted information from Cancer Research UK, and directs users to further support where needed.
